Windows 10 Servicing Option

You can upgrade Windows 10 from 1507 to 1511 or to Anniversary Update using Servicing option in SCCM.
Here are some bulletin point on how to setup Windows 10 servicing plan setup in SCCM.
  • Launch the SCCM console navigate to Software Library and then select Windows 10 Servicing ->. Windows 10 Servicing dashboard will be opened. 
  • Under Servicing Plans create a new servicing plan and select the target collection.
  • Specify the deployment ring (CB or CBB)
  • Select the language(s) that are needed
  • Configure a deployment schedule that meets your needs
  • Configure the user experience that meets your needs
  • Create or use an existing Deployment Package
  • Select the distribution points(s) and Choose a download location
  • Review the summary & Close

Express installation updated supported on Windows 10 version 1607

Description - Express installation update
Windows 10 Cumulative Update includes all updates from previous months are downloaded each month. if  express installation is enabled Configuration Manager client downloads only the delta between the current month's Windows 10 Cumulative Update and the previous month's update.
To make use of this functionality you should  Enable Express installation on both client & server. Client should run Windows 10 1607 or any later version.

Enable express installation on the server
    • Launch Software Update Point Properties.
    • Select Update Files tab
    • Select "Download full files for all approved updates and express installation file
Enable express installation on the client
    • Launch the in use client settings
    • Navigate to Software Updates, configure Yes to enable "Enable installation of Express Updates on clients"

Windows 10 Edition Upgrade (Professional to Enterprise)

Here is the most simple and feasible way to quickly upgrade Windows 10 from one edition of Windows 10 to another. (Professional to Enterprise)

Command line Upgrade
  • If you are using SCCM/MDT just add the command line with your product key in the TS. Its as simple as it is ..
  • changepk.exe /ProductKey 
Manual Method 
  • Clicking on the Start menu or the Start screen, type 'Activation' and click on the Activation shortcut.
  • Click Change product key
  • Enter your product key
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

 Edition Upgrade (Professional to Enterprise)

    • Enterprises need predictability of features 
    • Service Branches for Enterprise provides 3 Service Branches for Windows 10
      • Current Branch (CB)
      • Current Branch for Business (CBB)
      • Long Term Service Branch (LTSB)
    • Insider enrolment can change branch being used, if allowed
Windows 10 Service Branching
Current Branch for Business (CBB)
    • New features installed only after a minimum of 4 months of release to CB
    • Can be achieved using organisation level update service such as WSUS/SCCM
    • Configure "Defer Updated" on PC for additional check or when updating from Windows Update
    • Require update within 8 months to latest after release
 Long Term Service Branch (LTSB)
    • For critical systems that require extreme predictability 
    • No new feature added 
    • Security and Critical updates supplied 
    • LTSB provided as separate Windows 10 Enterprise image
    • High update apps removed (Edge, Cortana, ect)
    • No new features in mainstream (5 years) + extended support (5 years)
